Cheif story...

Hi, please allow us to introduce our AMCUK Rescue lad Chief, who has been with us since 22nd June 2013 and is now adopted. He was in rescue through no fault of his own, or his previous owner and certainly isn’t your typical two year old LOL

We lost a very special friend earlier this year and were looking for a rescue boy, so contacted Sam at AMCUK Rescue, to see if there was a suitable lad for us, as we race. We’d only done private rehoming before, as our eldest Border Collie is a failed sheepdog and the younger Border Collie is his Son and the resident Alaskan Malamute lass was a private rescue that a friend told us about.

Sam and Garth got two lads lined up for us to meet and as soon as we met Chief, we knew he was our boy x  We took both BC lads and our Mal lass to meet him and took them all out together and they gelled, which for our lass is a big deal LOL  They knew we are a full race team and he needed a race home, so perfect match. So we brought him home and soon discovered he’s earned his Tigger nickname, as he’s Bouncy Bouncy Bouncy Bouncy Fun Fun Fun Fun Fun LO

He’s now got more nicknames aka Hacker, as the dog run is outside the kitchen window and he literally bounces across it, like he was on tv and Teddy, which harks back to our last lads nickname, but suits him soo well, as he’s just a huge loving Teddy bear in character

He’s a bit of a manner less big oaf, but he’s learning not to splat Mummy and Brett and listens to Daddy when out walking x  But he has the loveliest of personalities and is an extremely loving and trusting lad.  Gaz walking him thinks his arms have grown two inches, as he pulls like a freight train LOL

His first try of a harness confused him a wee bit and he had his first try in the rig at the AMWA fun weekend and once I’d faced him the right way on the start line he loved it and was grinning like the Cheshire cat on the finish line x  He was born to be a race lad. A recent discovery from his pedigree showed that our Mal lass is actually his Aunty, so perhaps why they gelled so quick, but an amazing coincidence, I couldn’t believe it.

He is a very happy go lucky lad and is so willing to learn and please, we are honoured to give him his forever home and now look forward to running him in the team of four for training x

We’re expecting big things from this lad during the race season and will keep AMCUK Rescue posted on his progress throughout the race season x

Thank you Sam and Garth, for finding the perfect dog for us xxx
